Little Green...Balm - Looking Good Naked
Hands up, I must confess before I start. I am a big fan of Helen James' Innocent Oils products. The hemp oil and hemp balm have changed my skin from spotty and greasy (in your late 30s, I ask you) to smooth, not greasy and so good I don't wear make-up any more. And this from a person who at one time wouldn't even step out of the bedroom without foundation, spot cover and full eye make-up. If that sounds like you, you will know what a big deal that is. It's not going too far to say that it is life changing!
Anyway, so now you know where I stand on the Little Green...Balm.
The ingredients are very simple as nature intended, certified organic and the oils unrefined. The glass jar is made from a minimum 30% recycled glass with a recyclable aluminium lid, and the label is printed on 100% post-consumer-waste-content recycled paper.
So what is it like?
It's lovely. Simple as that. When you first apply it there is a gentle nutty scent, which fades quickly. It glides on beautifully and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised. It is pure, toxin-free, vegan certified, as natural as you can get and has no hidden nasties to hurt anyone or anything, least of all the environment. It is designed for all over body use and I find it works very well in place of Vaseline (which being petroleum-based is a complete no-no and I would never touch with the longest of bargepoles). I use it for removing eye make-up (I must confess to still wearing that), as a lip balm, moisturising under the eyes, for my hands, on dry bits on my face and for any other dry areas that crop up, particularly in this cold weather. It's only a small pot at 30ml but don't let that deceive, this balm goes miles on the skin.
In the days when beauty creams are marketed to plump up wrinkles, make you look younger, stop all signs of character...sorry...ageing, it is so reassuring to find a product that doesn't hide behind ridiculous claims, and just...works beautifully.
In the words of the lovely Helen James, the Little Green...Balm is ‘as pure and naked as a product can get whilst still retaining all the very best bits for your skin'.
And last but certainly not least, 15% of the proceeds for Little Green...Balm go to The Big Green Idea.
So start the New Year on a positive green note - invest in a pot of Little Green...Balm. I'm sure it will be the first of many!!
