10:10... Everybody is at it!

Regardless of the recent noise and heat from professional denialists attacking the science of climate change, most responsible people have long since stopped asking, 'Is it happening?', turning instead to the vital question, 'What can I do about it?'

It's a tricky one, but we think we have an answer: 10:10.

10:10 is an ambitious project to unite every sector of British society behind one simple idea: that by working together we can achieve a 10 per cent cut in the UK's carbon emissions in 2010. Science tells us that 10 per cent this year is the right kind of target for Britain; and common sense tells us that the first 10 per cent is the easiest. So what are we waiting for?

Trying to cut your carbon emissions on your own can sometimes feel like an uphill struggle. But it's a different story when you're part of a huge nationwide community working hand-in-hand on creative solutions to the defining challenge of our day.

10:10 and the Big Green Idea both share the same philosophy: that it's time to get together, roll up our sleeves and just get on with it.
