Biketastic Event 2009

War Memorial Park, Kenilworth Road Coventry

This event includes an organised bike ride for all ages starting from the War Memorial Park.  There will also be fun activities such as a Get Cycling Roadshow, where you can try out all different sorts of bikes, the Big Green Bus, where you can find out about sustainable living and stalls with local traders who will have lots of lovely things to eat and drink.

There will be information and advice available for anyone who is looking to buy a bike or to take up cycling after a few years out of the saddle.  For those who have a bike, advice will be available on how to maintain and fix your bike.

The event is open to all ages, although all children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult on the ride. All riders will need to register before going on the ride.  If you would like to fill in your form before you arrive, please download the registration form via the website link below.

All rides are signposted and supervised by trained marshals.  As an incentive to finish the ride, all cyclists will be entered into a prize draw.

Event schedule

11am - Event opens
11.15am - First guided ride leaves the Memorial Park (rides will be leaving the park throughout the event)
1.30pm - Final guided ride leaves
2.30pm - Prize Draw
3pm - Event closes

Guided ride
The ride is 8.4 miles and goes out along the Kenilworth Road towards Kenilworth along the Greenway and back to Coventry. The ride should take a maximum of 3 hours and is mostly off road. Marshals will be stationed by any difficult parts of the ride to ensure the safety of all the riders. A route map can be downloaded on the website, link below.
