Brigit and the Big Green Bus will be one of the star attractions at Colwall village's Greener Open Day to be held at Lower House Farm, Evendine Lane, Colwall Green, in the picturesque Malvern Hills. On 29th June Sustrans' Change Your World campaign action week begins and thousands are expected to promise to swap just one car journey between then and 4 July in favour of walking, cycling, taking public transport, car-sharing or simply not making the trip at all! Sustainable transport charity Sustrans today (13 June) announces the latest figures for cycling and walking on the National Cycle Network and, for the first time in the Network's 14-year history, it carries more than one million journeys every day. In 2008 a total of 386 million trips were made on the Network - half by bike and half on foot - just under a third of the 1.2 billion passenger journeys made on Britain's railways in 2007/08. More →
