Big Green Bus at Colwall Greener Open Day - 11th July 2009

Brigit and the Big Green Bus will be one of the star attractions at Colwall village's Greener Open Day to be held at Lower House Farm, Evendine Lane, Colwall Green, in the picturesque Malvern Hills. The event runs from 12 noon to 5pm and will feature stalls manned by the likes of Colwall Orchard Group and the Allotment and Car Ownership Share Group, alternative energy demos, green transport solutions including electric vehicles, a talk about bees by Brigit and a Transition Towns talk. On 29th June Sustrans' Change Your World campaign action week begins and thousands are expected to promise to swap just one car journey between then and 4 July in favour of walking, cycling, taking public transport, car-sharing or simply not making the trip at all! Big Green Bus at Coventry ‘Biketastic’ - 21 June 2009

A great finale to Bike Week, Coventry's Biketastic Event 2009 will be held from 11am - 3pm Sunday 21 June 2009 at War Memorial Park, Kenilworth Road Coventry and best of all is Free of Charge! This event includes an organised bike ride for all ages starting from the War Memorial Park. There will also be fun activities such as a Get Cycling Roadshow, where you can try out all different sorts of bikes, the Big Green Bus, where you can find out about sustainable living and stalls with local traders who will have lots of lovely things to eat and drink. Value for money National Cycle Network is cutting car traffic and getting more people active

Sustainable transport charity Sustrans today (13 June) announces the latest figures for cycling and walking on the National Cycle Network and, for the first time in the Network's 14-year history, it carries more than one million journeys every day. In 2008 a total of 386 million trips were made on the Network - half by bike and half on foot - just under a third of the 1.2 billion passenger journeys made on Britain's railways in 2007/08. More
