Soil Association - Save the Honeybee campaign

The Soil Association have a big campaign running at the moment to try to help with the plight of the Honey Bee. They have an on-line petition they would like you to sign calling on Hilary Benn, the UK’s Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs to ban neonicotinoid pesticides with immediate effect. These pesticides have been shown to kill honeybees and are thought to be a contributory factor in the recent dramatic increase in honeybee deaths. More

Eco Towns

The go-ahead has been given for the first four Eco Towns to be developed in the UK. The successful bids, which will still have to go through the planning process, were named as Rackheath, Norfolk, Whitehill Bordon, East Hampshire, north west Bicester and the China Clay Community scheme near St Austell, Cornwall.
