So much to learn…

I had a lesson today to learn how to use the content management system on our new website, so I'll be able to put these blogs on the site myself in future instead of sending them in an email to someone technical to post them for me!

We've got a handful of really lovely volunteers working their butts off to get the new site up and running by the end of August. I've never really thought about how websites work and how important it is to be able to ‘navigate' your way around easily so running a website is another new thing for me to get my head around. It's quite exciting learning so many new things, but very time consuming at a time when I'm finding myself pretty thinly stretched. I could do with a lot more hours in the day.

I have a confession to make (Catholic upbringing)...I really, really didn't want to write a blog! The lovely people who have been working on the new site had to drag me kicking and screaming all the way to the keyboard to write all this...but amazingly I'm quite enjoying it now!!! It's a great way to remind yourself of what you've been up to, especially when you're menopausal and can't remember much about yesterday (or any other day) once you reach today!

Most of what I've written in my blog so far is quite girly, and as it's quite difficult to remember that other people may read it, I think I probably ramble a bit too much in it. I'll add some more technical details soon....and I'll also get some of the guys who have been helping with the electrics and micro-generation to write about what they've been doing and explain why they've made certain decisions.
