Resurgence
I have just come back from a wonderful day at a Resurgence event in London where I heard the author F. David Peat speak about 'Gentle Action'.
His book 'Gentle Action...bringing creative change to a turbulent world' is well worth reading. It '...embraces positive change toward a sustainable world, showing in many fascinating stories, how each of us can contribute to healthier communities and societies' http://www.fdavidpeat.com/
The main theme of the day was to link science with spirituality and another speaker, 'Amit Goswami', a quantum physicist who you may have come across if you've watched the amazing film 'What the bleep do we know' http://www.whatthebleep.com/, spoke of the infinite possibilities out there ... which only become manifest once you make a 'choice'.
The ethos of Resurgence magazine and the Schumacher college (who combined to arrange the day) is to approach everything we do though love, rather than fear. If our 'choices' are all made through love of the earth and all life sustained within, I think we'd be well on the way to a healthier planet!
Today is Sunday! We should 'bring back Sundays'!!! I'm going to take a leaf out of Satish Kumar's book and bake bread today. Then, I'm going to go for a walk this afternoon, and this evening I'm going to sit and read a nice positive book by the wood burner! I'm going to try and resist the temptation to work, I'm definitely not going to go near any shops, and I may even turn off my computer till tomorrow!
If you haven't come across Satish Kumar, I can strongly recommend you go to one of his talks if he is ever in your area...or read his book 'You are, therefore I am'. You can read about him here.... http://www.resurgence.org/satish-kumar/ He is a truly beautiful and inspiring human being!
Happy Sunday everyone! :o)
