I've spoken with Bob from Thamesdown Transport, so now I fully understand which batteries we need for the bus and why. Apparently it's all to do with the ‘cranking value' - and making sure our batteries are a minimum 665 amp-hour. Piece of cake! More

It's now early January and the new engine is ready for delivery so I called Brigit to keep her updated on the progress of her bus. She was extremely excited that the reconditioned engine was due for delivery the following day, and quickly made plans with Ralph (the cameraman) so they both could visit Thamesdown Transport in Swindon and film the occasion.The engine arrived as planned, and Ralph set about filming the delivery and unloading of the new 'Greener' Gardner engine. More

My ‘Big Green Experience' all started when a phone call was received from Brigit to recover her bus from Bradford-on-Avon.The engine was ‘Dead' and had thrown a con-rod narrowly missing the alternator, which was very fortunate as a direct strike would have caused an electrical fire and serious damage to the engine bay wiring. More
