29-11-09 Freeconomy

It's late evening on Saturday 28th November - ‘Buy Nothing Day' - and I've just come back from an amazing (and FREE!) day out in Bristol. Mark Boyle and other members of the ‘freeconomy' community had set themselves the seemingly impossible task of gathering together enough ingredients, with no cash changing hands, to provide a feast for 300+ people for free... and they succeeded! 14-11-09 Summer camp

I've just been reading our November newsletter and thinking how wonderful it would be to get all our regular writers in the same place, at the same time, to pick their brains on the subjects they all know and write about so well. I find it so inspiring when I listen to other people talking about their interests - and I love attending workshops and courses so I can take new ideas home and put them into action. More

08-11-09 What’s the point ... ?

I've been mulling this over in my head for some time now, and wondering how we could maximise our resources to offer more information in one go to people who want it - and I have been toying with the idea of running courses from the bus. 22-09-09 Where did the summer go?

Goodness me, where did the summer go?! It seems like only yesterday that I was making plans to take time out in August to do some walking, reading, thinking... but somehow summer has been and gone and I still haven’t managed to take that time. More

04-08-09 Our New Office

It's become increasingly difficult to run the BGI efficiently over the last few years without a real office. More

14-07-09 Bus Gear

I'm beginning to think our Big Green Bus is ‘alive' and trying to get my attention (as if it doesn't have it seven days a week anyway) because almost every time we take it out on the road something happens to make our journey a memorable one ... More
